So Melissa got me to the Rum factory and from there, i was like..' ermmm can i join the tour?' and this lady literally rushed to the tour that i missed 5mins of... put me in a room to watch a short film about the history of the rum itself and how it is made... Basically, it was a history lesson to prove that this is actually the worlds oldest rum brand ever made... i think that is quite impressive uno!! This tiny island has that to be proud of!! Oh also...did i mention i didn't even pay for the tour?? she dragged me in n i thought... ermmm okkkkk.. whatever...
So this tour, after the film, we did the rum tasting!! This was were i got alil tipsy!! haha!! Show showed us how to tell from a young rum and an older rum... and the flavours and note u'd pick up from all of them... pretty cool actually!!!
I taste 3 of the rums... Eclipse-which is a young rum.. eclispe black which is a mix of young and old and extra old... which is like 10yrs or more?? i think... cant remember... The older it is, the smoother the taste...and the thicker the legs when u swirl it...
After the tasting, we went into the factory... and from there, i wasnt allowed to take ictures... ermm..did that stop me?? :p
NO it didn't!! lol!! but to be honest..weren't nothing special to see... jus packaging and bottles being cleand... Oh yea.. a fact... The long u leave rum in the barrel.. the better it is... as soon as its put in the glass bottle... nothing will actually change about it...so don't save ur rum for years hoping it will be better and smoother and worth more later... its not like wine... it will only change in the barrels ;)
After the rum tour was over... theres a gift shop and a bar... and jeniniooo headed to the bar to see whats interesting... why not try a rum cocktail...rum is my favourite cocktail liqueur.. Took this pic at the dining patio/area... the sun was hotttt that day so i had no rush to go anywhere ..may aswell enjoy n relax :)
